GRANDADDY LOVE
Jul. 25th, 2006 11:00 pmGrandaddy is one of my favoritest bands, and back in late May, my friend Chad told me they'd broken up, which made me shed a wee emo tear of much sadness. But! They had released a new album! A brand-new album I had no idea was released, and if it weren't for the fact that I decided to message
ariiadne on a whim and we decided to go eat at Colosso, also on a whim, I wouldn't have heard the album playing in the background and asked the server "HOLY SHIT, WHICH GRANDADDY ALBUM IS THIS, 'CAUSE I TOTALLY THOUGHT I HAD THEM ALL?" and he was all "IT'S THE NEWEST ONE" and I was all "OHMIGAWD IT'S AWESOME I DIDN'T KNOW THEY HAD A NEW ONE OUT OMG OMG."
And they do. It's called Just Like the Fambly Cat, and it's fucking PERFECT.
If you've never listened to Grandaddy, buy or otherwise acquire Sumday and The Sophtware Slump now. Like, post-haste. Go on. You won't regret it, especially if you're fond of bands like Sparklehorse, The Flaming Lips, Sufjan Stevens, The Helio Sequence and Postal Service.
OMG SO EXCITED NEW GRANDADDY ALBUM SQUEEEEE.
