Bend is in central Oregon. There are Attractions! Yes there are. Mostly of the skiing type, in the winter, so I have no frigging clue what would be going on at the end of May. But the John Day Fossil Beds seems to only be a couple hours away, and I've always wanted to visit. Have you been? If you haven't, DON'T YOU WANT TO VISIT TOO, PRETTY LITTLE BOY? I HAVE CANDY.
C'mon, being stuck in a car for hours at a stretch with me to see a musician you barely know--what's NOT to love about the idea of this trip??

Date: 2006-03-09 09:06 pm (UTC)I was going to say, what's not to love? - possibly that the concert might be in the middle of finals - but I checked, and they're done before that. The concert is actually the same day as the law school graduation, but I don't need to go to that...

Date: 2006-03-09 09:37 pm (UTC)Speaking of which: did you notice that the opening band is The Decemberists? I bet THAT thrills you no end :P . I need to see if I can get some CDs from the library.
So right now, I'm totally hoping that the Power of Cool-Ass Fossils will be a big point in my favor. That, and the thought of poor little me, headed off to the dark gloaming of the East all by myself.... *tiny violins*

Date: 2006-03-09 11:53 pm (UTC)I've heard a bit of Beck (a peck of Beck? Sorry! I said I'd stop), and can take a bit of the Decemberists. I might not go to the concert without you, but then, there's very few concerts that I'd go to just for the sake of the concert. They're inherently social activities.

Jay, you HAVE to go. I need to live vicariously through the two of you!!! Also, Bend is, um... there are a lot of trees and rocks there. It's very pretty.
Also, I just typo'ed "rocks" as "cocks." Ha-ha... Freudian.
Re: CAPSLOCK ENGAGED
Date: 2006-03-10 07:11 pm (UTC)I promise you that for this concert, you'll be able to live vicariously through me at the very least, if I can't mind-take Jay into coming with me. 'Cause I'm definitely going. Because BECK! WOO!
A lot of people whose musical tastes I trust really, really like The Decemberists, so I've put some of their CDs on hold at the library. (Yeah, yeah, so much for indie cred--I ne haf none.)
