The Mongolian Death Flu
Mar. 24th, 2008 08:38 pmThis has been the pattern for the last four days:
1. Cough up a lung in the night, and half in the morning. This leaves me half a lung to breathe with throughout the day.
2. Wander around in a daze, attempting to work but falling asleep instead.
3. Exert myself in a minor capacity, like do the dishes or cook.
4. Exhaust myself so much that I take a four-hour nap.
5. Wake up, attempt to work, fall asleep instead.
6. Wake up, go to bed, sleep for nine hours. Cough up a lung in the night, and half in the morning.
I am really really ready for this to stop. Blargh.

Date: 2008-03-25 04:12 am (UTC)I did OK with Benadryl and dextromethorphan with guaifenesin (sp?) to dry up the nose, control the cough and uncongest the lungs. And part of my recovery was also to drink sour pickle juice. (No, not pregnant, I suspect imbalanced electrolytes.)
I'm...uh, three weeks out and still coughing. Not that this news makes you feel better. But two weeks out I could manage a full day at the bookshop if I lay like a slug once I got home. It's s l o o o o w to leave, that flu.
