I've hurt myself seriously only once. That was when I broke my finger back in 2003. And even then, I was able to laugh at myself, even while I couldn't stop crying at the pain.

I'm looking forward to my bike riding shenanigans this weekend with equal parts unholy glee and resigned doom.
