Update-ish sorts of things
Jun. 10th, 2007 05:34 pm1. Bike porn was both more awesome and more HOLY FUCKWEASELS DID I JUST SEE WHAT I THINK I SAW than I expected it to be. A good time was had by all. My favorites of the night were
empty_fork's awesome catalogue-bike-pornstravaganza,
freyley and
linettasky's silent movie about a man's unspeakable love for his fixie (I helped
freyley with the title, woooo go me) and
stereotype441's bike porn/bicycle rights mockumentary. I'll link to the film clips on Youtube if they ever become available, because they are seriously worth seeing.
2. I have forgotten what a vicious headache I get when the optometrist dilates my pupils. Apologies to those who were expecting me at tango today; I went home and flopped and just got up because I couldn't stand being floppy any more.
3. I bought the dresses I'm going to wear to
jennekirby's wedding and the RWA national convention. They're POLKA DOTTED. And totally awesome.
4. The new dresses, combined with wearing my wedding dress to the Bus Project gala (it's not a traditional wedding dress; it's a pink silk thing with a paisley-ish pattern on it, because I generally buy dresses that I can wear to a multitude of events and for a multitude of purposes, as I'm not sentimental in the least about that sort of thing, which is not to say I don't understand why people would want to buy and wear wedding dresses--they're just not quite my thing) and where was I before I opened those parentheses? Oh yes. Anyway, I have some pretty awesome dresses, and now I have even MORE awesome dresses, and I really, really want to wear them more often. So now I'm thinking that I should throw a Pretty Dress Party.
Basically: I (hold on to your panties, folks) make a ton of food. (See? Shocking, I know.) And you guys show up. In dresses.
OK, fine, dresses aren't mandatory. But they'd be highly, highly encouraged. And we'll hang out, and eat lots of really good food, and have geeky conversations, and play games, and just ROCK THE FUCK OUT.
In pretty dresses.
Anyone interested?
Slim boys in the audience: I have dresses that would fit you. F'real. And I'd be totally willing to lend them to you for this occasion.
Busty girls in the audience who range from a size 6 to a size 10: ditto.

Date: 2007-06-12 08:46 am (UTC)as to when: i'm still dealing with a bit of the ohgodbroke so the next couple weeks are a bit iffy; besides, that offers time for recipe-finding and frosting-art-practicing. this could be a fourth of july Thing, but personally i'm inclined to have it sometime that's not competing with other people's parties. plus, mid or late july is when it'll be really warm and everyone will be wanting to be scantily clad, anyway. so, yeah, i'm thinking thenishabouts.
i'm also thinking getting hold ofa mess of kids in the hall might be a great accompaniment.
