Like most nerds, I have some issues with hand-eye co-ordination, which often translate to problems with rhythm and timing. I have difficulty picking up new dance steps, for example, or learning a new sport.
But last night, I found that my inability to let go of the B button on the Wii-mote at the proper point of my swing while playing Wii Bowling leads to eerily consistent strikes. I'm serious--I got eight strikes in a row. My final score for my second game was utterly ridiculous; I shot well past 250. It's rocket bowling1 at its best, baby.
This is the first and only instance in which my difficulty with doing two things at once has worked in my favor.
Notes:
1 Rocket bowling is when you let go at the apex of your upswing, so it looks like you're launching the ball using a rocket launcher. Blame
freyley for introducing me to that term.

Date: 2007-01-18 02:15 am (UTC)I find it funny that I have terrible co-ordination everywhere else, but give me a mouse and keyboard, and suddenly everything's super easy.
Bowling and Golf are my favorite ones on Wii Sports. The rest have controls that feel clunky to me.
However, the best game so far? Trauma Center: Second Opinion. That game is amazing.
