Actually, Cook's Illustrated rated the Forschner Fibrox Chef and paring knife their faves [forget what the last one was], but I do remember the three basic knives were less than $100 and I think the cleaver was $50. And their pick for electric knife sharpeners was around $90, but I could hold off on that. And there is a cutlery place down the street from me that sells them all...
